reVAMP your life with LimbPower's 12-week fitness course for amputees

Published on July 15, 2025

Are you a recent amputee looking to get back into fitness but feeling a little anxious about taking that first step? Are you unsure how to perform exercises or use gym equipment confidently with a prosthesis? Or are you ready to take back control of your health and fitness journey?

If any of this sounds familiar, reVAMP is a supportive, adaptive fitness programme designed specifically for amputees—here to help you build strength, confidence, and reach your fitness goals.

Discovering fitness in my early twenties completely transformed my life. Living with a limb difference—especially before the rise of social media and increased awareness around disabilities—was challenging. However, when I started exercising regularly, many aspects of my life began to shift. It was not just about physical or aesthetic changes; it was also about how I felt on the inside.

The endorphins gave me a genuine sense of vitality. Exercise became my therapy and quickly turned into a non-negotiable part of my daily routine. It had a significant impact on my mental health and enhanced my control and mobility using my prosthesis, allowing me to engage in many more activities and adventures.

That's why I'm such a huge fan of the reVAMP program. I have witnessed firsthand the life-changing impact it has on people. I am really proud to have been involved in its early development alongside Kiera Roche and Jack Eyers, helping to shape reVAMP into what it is today.

Why is fitness so crucial for amputees?

Let's break it down. Incorporating fitness into your life as an amputee isn't just about looks or how heavy a weight you can lift—it's about enhancing core strength, in return increasing mobility and your overall quality of life.

Did you know?

  • Above-knee amputees burn up to 75% more energy than non-amputees when walking.
  • A strong core is your powerhouse and is key to your prosthetic movements, helping you walk further for longer.
  • Regular exercise improves balance, reduces back pain and enhances posture, which are common issues for many amputees.
  • Fitness boosts mental health, reduces anxiety, and builds confidence both with and without your prosthesis.

reVAMP addresses all these areas. You'll learn how to build a robust foundation supporting your entire body, particularly those muscles crucial for strength and function as an amputee. The programme also guides you on fueling your body with better nutrition and establishing routines that work for you in everyday life.

A Life-Changing Journey—In Just 12 Weeks

Over 200 participants have taken part in reVAMP, with many describing it as life-changing. It's more than achieving physical milestones—it's about rediscovering what you're truly capable of.

"When I started, I couldn't touch my toes and managed just three press-ups. My weight was 113.5kg. Now, I can touch my toes, complete 25 press-ups, and I've lost over 10kg. I even had the confidence to participate in the Brighton 10K. reVAMP provided me with the support and motivation I needed, and the WhatsApp group kept me accountable and motivated." — Martin Yoxall, reVAMPer

How to Get Involved

reVAMP programmes take place three times a year, starting in January, May and September. If you're ready to take that step, reconnect with your body, enhance your strength, and with a dedicated support team, reVAMP is here for you.
